Still within the first week of 2010 and people are already calling this one of the greatest years for movie fans. So I had a look at what was out there and it is indeed pretty impressive. Potentially. There's something for everyone with top films from all genres, and here is my preview.
The Expendables / 20.8
A proper action movie from Sylvester Stallone. A highly trained US military team attempt to overthrow the dictator causing devastation to South America for 20 years. Starring Stallone, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger and the late Brittany Murphy. Certainly looks like the fight scenes could be something well worth watching with some of Hollywood's most legendary action stars involved.
Predators / 07.7
Sequel to PREDATOR of 1987, this looks like another thrilling piece of alien v man. Some question marks have been raised over the cast though, with Adrien Brody inevitably being compared to Schwarzenegger.
Date Night / 09.4
So there's always one stand out comedy film. One that gets everybody talking, like Tropic Thunder and The Hangover. Well this is it for 2010. Starring Steve Carell and Tina Fey, two of the funniest actors in the genre, it follows a married couple's ordinary night out which goes horribly wrong. Bound to be hilarious.
Robin Hood / 14.5
Ridley Scott remakes this epic story of an archer fighting against the Norman invaders. The cast is very well chosen too including Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett. With the director of AMERICAN GANGSTER and the GLADIATOR Maximus himself, this is sure to be the most action-packed version of the film yet.
Knight And Day / 02.7
Cameron Diaz meets Tom Cruise at a blind date but she is taken into the crazy world of spy. It's basically a romantic comedy action kind of thing. May sound pretty ordinary but the cast is good James Mangold is the director so it could be worth watching.
Shrek Forever After / 09.7
The final chapter apparently. I thought they were done when Shrek and Fiona finally got married as ogres, but there's always room for one more Shrek. I personally love it and I'd say this will be another entertaining family film. Stars Mike Myers, Catherine Zeta Jones, Eddie Murphy, Antonio Banderas.
More to come guys, stay tuned..
