PATRICK STUMP SOUL PUNK
"Soul Punk" is the debut solo album of Fall Out Boy frontman Patrick Stump, released today. I loved the band's music and it's been interesting to hear him use his musical talents elsewhere. His 2010 EP was gave us a glimpse of what kind of sound he was working on, and it seemed very experimental (in a good way of course). I got the sense he was enjoying himself, which is always great as a listener. This album keeps the experiments flowing as he uses his production skills as well as his vocal cords to their full extent in creating some buzzing layers and finishes. It's probably not unfair for me to say most songs are indeed a little similar but it is a really good collection of tunes, not to mention some brilliant lyrics too. Definitely worth listening to and I certainly hope he continues on. I also hope Fall Out Boy return.

PATRICK STUMP FEAT. LUPE FIASCO
Frontman vocalist of Fall Out Boy, currently on an indefinite hiatus, has been readying for his new and first solo album "Soul Punk" which has just had its release date announced for October 18th. Today sees the official release of his single "This City" featuring rapper Lupe Fiasco, with a music video coming soon, which apparently is to feature very little other than Patrick Stump singing his song, for the reasons of focusing on his music and letting it speak for itself. I'd say that's fair enough and actually pretty respectable. The album looks to fuse his punk band roots with a soulful vibe to turn his feelings and anger into something meaningful and positive, and I for one am very eager to check it out. His debut LP from February was great, I think he's great.

PATRICK STUMP SOLO EP
Patrick Stump, known as both music producer and Fall Out Boy vocalist, released his first solo EP last week called "Traunt Wave". And today his video for the track "Spotlight (Oh Nostaligia)" was premiered. It's great to hear his voice again - I was indeed a fan of Fall Out Boy back in the day.
We've not heard of him much lately, but his most recent work was actually Bruno Mars, co-writing one of my favourite songs "The Other Side" featuring Cee-Lo and B.o.B. Tune. But now he's opened his solo career and he appears to have cleaned up a little, looks a bit like Olly Murs. His vocals are still what they were and really it's a top top mini-album, this one's totally gonna be on loop. I reckon he's going on the perfect direction and I can't wait for his material to develop further.
PS. Check out his a cappella tribute to Mr Michael Jackson released last month, right here. Love it.
