THE XX AT GLASTONBURY

Glastonbury Festival kicked off yesterday with some massive names including Dizzee Rascal, Florence and the Machine and Gorillaz. But the artist I was most keen to watch was The XX, who played on the John Peel stage today.

The South London indie trio shot to success with their self-titled debut album last year. Their minimal approach seemed to find a niche and I was certainly hooked by the addictive post pop music. The album was fresh and unique and I really found it attractive.

I was amused to hear that today's performance was described 'sleepier than on record'. It is true that the music is pretty drowzy but that's what I love. Again, it's modern and quite fascinating to be honest. I really look forward to their following productions.

Other names I am excited to see in action include Ellie Goulding, Joshua Radin, Chew Lips, Jack Johnson.. man I wish I was there.
