The FA Cup 3rd Round took place this weekend, featuring all the big guns, where Manchester United played Leeds, Liverpool visited Reading, Arsenal travelled to West Ham, and Chelsea hosted Watford. Who won? Chelsea and Arsenal. Man Utd lost while Liverpool will have a replay.
So it was our first game of the year and it was important to start 2010 off well, because December was a bit of a disaster. And I'd say 5-0 is pretty good. A clean sheet always boosts the defence's confidence and five goals certainly helps the attackers' mentality too. With our African stars including Drogba, Essien, Kalou and Mikel unavailable for January, some changes had to be made. Daniel Sturridge started and impressed with two goals. Malouda got one too as well as an absolutely incredible strike by Lampard. Into the 4th Round we go, where we will face Preston away. I don't think we'll be giving up the trophy just yet, having majestically won it last season.
Next game for us is Hull on Saturday where we have to get 3 points. Come on guys, this just might be our year.
