AN AWESOME YEAR FOR FILM Part 3

The final part to my preview of the biggest 2010 movies. So let us continue..

Fish Tank / 15.1
Already a hit from its screening at the Toronto Film Festival, this Essex-set drama has deep, emotional meaning, and it's especially brought about by the highly praised peformance by upcoming actress Katie Jarvis and supporting actors Michael Fassbender and Rebecca Griffiths.

The American / 01.9
George Clooney is an assassin who decides to quit after his next task after he lost his lover to a botched job. Written by Rowan Joffe, who was also the scribe for 28 WEEKS LATER, this looks to be a decent picture, especially in the normally bland autumn period.

Beastly / 30.7
This is a teen gothic romance where a rich spoiled boy is cursed into a hideous figure, which can only be undone if he falls in love. Yes I know it sounds horribly Twilight-esque with a target audience of 12-year-old girls. But wait, the cast includes Vanessa Hudgens, Alex Pettyfer, Mary-Kate Olsen and NEIL PATRICK HARRIS. That's right, Neil Patrick Harris who plays the overly awesome Barney Stinson in CBS' hit sitcom How I Met Your Mother. Neil Patrick Harris! I know I'll be watching.

Jackass 3D / 15.10
What, it's Jackass in 3D.

London Boulevard / 30.7
A South London-based film which revolves around a freshly released ex-con. It's been set up as one of the most promising thrillers of the year, with a host of Oscar winners in its cast. Should be very good with plenty of suspense and drama. Starring Keira Knightley, Colin Farrell, Ray Winstone, Anna Friel.

Little Fockers / 30.7
Third film of the the slapstick comedy series. Remember how people doubted the sequel MEET THE FOCKERS but it turned out to be a smash hit. Well, though there's a change in director, I think we can expect the same fun factor. Starring Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Robert De Niro. Oh and Jessica Alba. Haha.

Main Street / xx.xx
It's about a small city in the South of America, where the residents are disturbed by a stranger with a controversial plan to save their decaying hometown. Sounds really gripping and the cast is impressive too, with Orlando Bloom, Colin Firth, Amber Tamblyn, Ellen Burstyn, Patricia Clarkson.

Toy Story 3 / 23.7
Well this is definitely my most anticipated family film. I cannot stress how big my love for TOY STORY is. I think I had the VHS back in the day and I used to count how many times I watched it.. It was somewhere in the 40s. And so this third movie is set when Andy leaves for college. If I were him I'd be taking every single toy with me, but he has (somewhat wisely) decided to drop them off at a day-care centre. Oh the thrills! Plus it will be available in 3D, so not to be left behind the current digital generation. Starring Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack.

Shutter Island / 19.2
Set in 1954, Leonardo DiCaprio stars as he investigates the disppearance of the mentally insane murderess who is presumed to be hiding somewhere on Shutter Island. With plenty of twists and mystery elements, this should be a massively original and entertaining thriller. Many are expecting Oscars perhaps..

Inception / 16.7
This is the one I am most looking forward to. Christopher Nolan takes a break from BATMAN to write, direct and produce this mega-movie with the rather annoying tagline 'Your mind is the scene of the crime'. He's kept this film super secretive and despite the release of two trailers, nobody is still sure what it's really about. We think a CEO is out to look for some world-changing idea with some sort of blackmail involved too. Anyways it is sure to be a riveting watch, including aspect of sci-fi, thriller, action and a little bit of everything else too. And may I add there is an extra factor of motivation for me to watch (several times), which might become clear to you in the near future. Oh and did I mention just how colourful the cast is? Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ellen Page, Ken Watanabe, Marion Cotillard, Lukas Haas, Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Michael Caine, Tom Berenger.

And there's so much more. Nicholas Cage, Bruce Willis, Jennifer Aniston, Michael Cera, Catherine Heigl, Chris Rock, Drew Barrymore, Zac Efron, Jim Carrey, Harrison Ford, Jackie Chan, Jennifer Lopez, Renee Zellweger and Pierce Brosnan all have features, as well as SAW VII 3D and SEX AND THE CITY 2. The list goes on. So I'm thinking 2010 is going to be huge.
