I'm gonna stick with the African Cup of Nations for my next post. Because the opening match just took place with the final whistle blown literally seconds ago. (So I'm typing super fast here.)
The incident concerning the Togo team seriously cast a doubt over whether the tournament would go ahead, but it has done, and in some style too.
The first period of twenty or so minutes was scruffy and not at all attractive but then, the host Angola were 4 goals up. A lot was expected of the opponents Mali, boasting the likes of Sevilla striker KANOUTE and Barcelona forward KEITA but it was the hosts who were cruising after two great headers and two penalties.
At 79 minutes however, Mali pulled one back. Then another at 88 minutes. Then a third in stoppage time. And would you believe it, they scored an equaliser at 94 minutes. It was incredible. One of the most entertaining games I've ever watched. I wonder what the bookmakers were saying with a quarter of an hour to go.
Anyways, just thought I'd let you know, being the nice guy that I am..
4-4 the final score. It was awesome.
