JOHN TERRY ENGLAND CAPTAIN

JT has been reinstated as England captain, after being demoted over a year ago for having an affair with a teammate's ex. Not only is that not relevant in footballing terms, but note that it was his ex-girlfriend. They weren't even together at the time of the affair. I reckon it was made too big of a deal.

But now, as England prepare for two fixtures and with Ferdinand out due to injury, Terry has been chosen to regain the armband on a permanent basis. Seems to me as if Capello was just waiting for an excuse to fix his mistake. Whatever the reason, it's super news he's back as Captain. Unquestionably he is a top top leader, the best in the country no doubt, his dominance and his passion are bursting.

Then again, I'm not sure why captaincy is such a big issue in this country. As long as he's on the field, it doesn't actually matter. Meh.
