Three years after their last release, Good Charlotte return with a brand new album "Cardiology", which is out today. "The River" was like one of my favourite songs of 2007 and I was quite excited for their return.
I've not heard the album fully yet but from what I have listened to, it seems like they've taken a few steps backwards. Some of the stuff sounds like teen punk rock again, almost squeezing into the pop genre even. And that's not cool. I was really hoping they'd bring out something more original, showing growth from their previous album. Bit of an anticlimax for me - it's not quite what I was expecting. Shame, really.
